Drawing a yacht hull - plane from line?

Hi,

I am new to F360, but caught a bug. As a training, I am trying to draw a yacht from very limited pictures.

So I created hull outline. Top line is curved. I would love to create a curved plane from it, but I don't know how. I would then draw deck on this plane. Currently deck is drawn on offset plane (visible on the picture.).

My question is - can I create curved plane from line? The line is the one in the middle of the picture.

I quicky checked - I can do what I need from line drawn somewhere, but hull profile is one drawing and I can not select single line.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

A plane is, by definition, planar.

I suspect you want an Extruded surface.

In any case, this is not a beginner project.

What projects (of increasing difficulty) have you completed prior to this project?

can you explain what you mean by "a curved plane"?  A plane, by definition, is not curved.  Do you mean a planar face with a curved boundary, like this:

starting sketch:

if so, close the boundary and use Boundary Patch

Or do you mean creating a surface body from this curve, like this:

if so, use Surface Extrude

Or, maybe you mean something else entirely.  If so, can you describe it a bit more?

Jeff, thank you for your answer. First of all, I am very very impressed by F360. I was always afraid of 3D modeling, but its piece of cake - I have no previous experience in any 3D modeling software.

So the feature I was looking for was projecting sketch into surface. So I created surface by extruding spline and projected my sketch. I achieved my effect of 'curved plane' - obviously there is no such thing. Question is no longer valid.
The boat I am drawing has only 2 usable drawings - side draw and deck view, so I have issues figuring out what is correct method. Is there any tutorial that teaches how to create boat hull like object properly? I found some on YT but those had some missing points.

So far I am creating several offset planes where I am using splines to draw a frames. Not sure if this is most effective way to do it....

I don't know if there are any good tutorials around modeling boat hulls.  But, this does seem to be a popular are for Fusion, and on this forum.  I have seen a lot of posts here around designing/modeling boats in general, and the hull seems to be the main challenge there.  If you search on this forum even for "boat", you'll see a good list.

the basic approach that I think most people use is a loft across a set of cull cross sections.
