Drawing a cylinder but no option to add height or diameter faces

Hi there,

This is my first post to this forum so please bear with me. I am just learning Fusion 360 on my 30 day trial and am working my way through the tutorials. I am now having an issue on Lesson 13: create and edit faces and cylinder freeform bodies. On the tutorial when a cylinder is drawn there are options to determine how many height and diameter faces there are on the cylinder (screengrab attachment "lesson 13 face and cylinder").

However on my version of the software I don't have the options to add faces at all. See other screengrab attachment "cylinder problem". I'm not sure whether I have not checked an option somewhere or whether I need to select a different cylinder drawing option.

There does seem to be a variation in the software functions from the tutorials to my version (sculpt option now seems to be solid surface etc) but I presume these are just new updates.

Any advice you could give me would be gratefully accepted.

Cheers.

Bob

Your second image where there is no option for faces is in the solid environment, you need to be in the "Form" space to get what you are looking for. Create Form is under the "Create" menu.

The first image is based on a Freeform (Sculpt/Form/T-SPline) object.

The second image creates a BRep cylinder.

If you want to go back to the form you need to double-click on the purple icon in the timeline, or select it, right-click and select "edit feature". then you are back in the Freeform environment and can add a T-Spline cylinder with the option for circumferential and longitudinal segments.
