Does orientation of two halves prior to Joint command matter?

I'm building a simple enclosure, I split it into two components, now need to make some changes and cannot get them to join.  It give me one rotation plane, but its always in the wrong direction.  Once the joint joins, can I edit in all three planes or just one?  Have moved models around several times in hopes that they would join differently, even moved them almost exactly where they should be, still no love.

thanks.

Hi @Anonymous,

I'd have to take a look at your model to be certain.  Can you share it here?  In general, no, the orientation of the halves should not matter.

One quick hint:  If you use "As-Built Joint" (assuming the pieces are in the right orientation at the time), then Fusion doesn't even try to move the components for the joint.  I find it much easier to build components in place, and use this joint type.
