Does Fusion 360 Open SolidWorks Drawings?

Title says it all......Customer sent us a bunch of SolidWorks drawings and I'm having trouble opening them.

You can but not directly, they need to be translated first, here is a link to how it's done.

Thank you for asking about that.

@kshea9RNL8 is absolutely right. You can import SolidWorks data through the "Data Panel" and "A360", link here.

Once your SolidWorks drawing is uploaded you can review within the A360 viewer and in the Fusion 360 drawing environment.

@utekcnc are you talking about Solidworks models (.sldprt) or 2d drawing (.slddrw), Fusion can only import 3d models (.sldprt).

SolidWorks drawings........Can I load them through A360?   I installed eViewer so am getting by just fine looking at them now.

Pretty sure you can't open them with Fusion .slddrw is not listed as an upload file type. Don't know it the a360 viewer will view them and when you say A360 do you mean A360 Drive or Fusion's data area on the cloud?

Drawings or models ?

I am not aware of any 3D CAD software that can read the 2D manufacturing drawings of another CAD package.

Fusion 360 can import native Solid Works models, but just as in any other CAD software they are importing as "dumb" solids or surfaces.

You cannot download directly. you need to convert it to dwg or dxf.
