dodecahedron angles?

Hello again Autodesk community!  I have a question sort of about geometry.

Right now, I have parts that when connected, together are supposed to make a dodecaheron.

This is what I have right now:  dd5.png

However, when I add another part, it looks like this:  dd6.png

The sides are overlapping, but I don't know why...

When I measure the angles, this is what I've found:

It seems that in the second picture, there is only space for an angle of 103.2 degrees while in the first picture, the angle of the pentagon shape is 108 degrees.  I thought dodecahedrons have pentagons all with 108 degrees?  Where is this 103.2 degree constraint coming from?

 

The small pentagon sides are all 0.5 inches and the big pentagon sides are all 1.5 inches.
