hi. I'm designing a lever. At one end is the pivot point, which comes to a stop when the lever is horizontal.
I want to find the safety factor etc when the lever is in the horizontal position and subjected to a distributed load along its length in the downward direction. I've applied a force to the end of the arm. Will this give me a distributed load, or isit treated as acting on the end?
I've fixed the pivot. Should I add a pin constraint, or is fixed ok?
