Display settings in Design and Render Mode

Hi,

When applying a material to the model in the Render Mode, that material is also visible in the Design mode, which make the model less visible, especially when using textures.

Is there a way to have different display settings in Design and Render Mode? Like basic colors in Design mode and the actual textures material in Render mode?

the only thing that exists today is to turn on "component color cycling" mode:

This setting picks a random color for each component in your design.  Those colors are then suspended in Render mode:

the only downside to this is that you cannot really choose what your components look like in Design mode.

Thanks for the feedback. This helps indeed. A material overide color would be better but this function is a good start.
