Sorry dumb question,

I am new to Autodesk and my background is Solidworks so I don't know the language for Autodesk.  I hope someone can translate for me.  In solidworks there is a function called smart dimension.  Does this exist in Autoworks Fusion 360?  When I watch tutorials i see people create a square then place a circle in the square then give the circle a dimension from a line on the square.  I was able to get it to work a couple times accidentally but now I can't seem to find the function.  In Solid there are 2 ways of doing this.  The first is selecting Smart Dimension then clicking on multiple points and applying your values.  The second is to click on a line, point, radius, or any object then hold down shift and click on another point.  This then brings up a display that shows all the relationships of the items selected.  You can then adjust any values that way.  Thank you for your time.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 community! Smiley Happy

As far I know the "Smart dimension" concept is almost similar to Solidworks and Fusion 360. That means Dimension types are determined by the sketch entities you select.

Regarding your second things, when you add a specific dimensions, you will hold a shift key, and I think it would have some limitations compared to Solidworks Smart dimension.

May I know which sketch entities want to add dimension? It will be better if you can share the image or file.

I look forward to your reply.

Many thanks,

Ahreum.

Could you create a screencast to show these functions in action in SW ?

Thank you for your response. Sorry so tardy in replying.

These vids show the capabilities of SW Smartdimension. You should be able
to see how it places constraints on the dimensioned objects and does not
allow that dimension to be defeated. When you place the standard
dimensions in on the left side of the screen you can still defeat the
dimension and move the object within the sketch. Also, you should be able
to see how easy it is to discover and amend the dimensions between 2
objects by selecting one object then holding down the shift key while
selecting other objects.

I am just wondering if Fusion 360 has anything similar to these options.
