Dimension the full lenght of a slot on a drawing

Hi:

I was wondering if there is a way of showing the full length of a slot on a drawing? Fusion does not seem to have that capability, is this true? I need to be able to show the full length of a slot on my drawings. Any help would be helpful and if fusion does not have that capability and would say that it is something worth looking into for a update.

Thank you

Just to make sure, you are asking about the 2d drawing workspace?

I thought you might be able to make a centre line but the dimension tools don't recognise intersections or mid points. The only workaround I can come up with is making a section view.

@Anonymous thanks for posting here to the forum. @HughesTooling's recommendation is the best way to get around this limitation today. We are actively working on a project that will allow you to control and expose the necessary snap points in order to acquire this kind of geometry dimension. Thanks for your patience and for engaging with us.

Hi Ed,

You can get the full dimension if the slots are horizontal or vertical using "linear dimension", but if they are slanted the snap points are not available on the ends anymore.

@Anonymous Yes quadrants are recognised, unfortunately midpoints and intersections are not.

@Anonymous I just wanted to quickly follow up to let you know that in the most recent update, we released OSNAP controls in the drawings workspace which should help you out here. You can check out the what's new video here. Give it a try and let us know what you think.
