Dimension or constraint bug?

I am new to fusion but I am encountering a consistent problem.  I sketch a drawing.  It shows my dimensions, arcs, constraints and all.

Next I save the drawing.

When I reopen the drawing there are no dimensions, arcs, constraints and all

I can't move pieces or continue to sketch.  If I select sketch the palette only comes up when I click anywhere. But if I try to add a constraint and select constraint I can not select anything to constrain.  Basically the drawing seems locked. But when I look at the thumbnail in the data panel all of the data is there. But again when I open it, it looks like the screen shot.

Right click on your sketch in the Browser or Timeline and select Edit Sketch.

That's it!  Great. 2 more basic questions.

1) When I look at my time line should all my steps show up? After I save?  There appears to be no real time line I can trace all of my steps back?

2) If I extrude a part, then draw another part, can I go back and delete the extruded part?  I can highlight it, select delete, but nothing happens?

Thanks again.

You must have inadvertently turned off capture of Design History.

No this is not turned off. Capture history is on.  Both on the right click on the part and in preferences.  Perhaps I simply do not know how to display it?  It shows only a curserary history. Part 1 etc.  Like when I hit save but not the detail.  Is there another way to bring those up? The attached is what I see.

I recommend that you go through the Tutorials.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

The timeline in Fusion is not a history of every command that you performed (it is not an undo history).  Instead, it represents the ordered feature recipe that is used to compute your final design results.  What appears in the timeline are things like sketches, solid modeling features, work geometry.  At this point in your design, you have only one sketch, so it is the only entry in your timeline.  The timeline also can be reordered (you can move a sketch earlier in the design, etc).  You can also "roll back" the timeline by dragging the end marker earlier in the design to see your design at a different state in its recipe history.

Some of this information is in the Fusion help:

Hope this makes the principles behind the feature timeline more clear.

Jeff
