Derive requires saved source design

Fine, but what if I required the derive to reflect the file as it was when last saved, without any changes that may be triggered by simply opening the file?
There should be an option to "undo any unsaved changes and continue".

This is also a problem if I open a design just to export it in a different format. Again, simply looking at the file induces changes that must be saved while all I want is to export the file as it was, without adding another useless save to the history.

Hi @ltomuta,

If you like that you have to use the Milestone of that specific component.

So if you insert that component from a milestone and later on you save that component without a Milestone, then it won't update it.

Just opening a design should modify anything requiring a save or are you changing visibility of parts?

Somehow I feel like the milestone is too much of a blunt tool in this case.
I simply don't want to save _now_, when the only change to the file is a camera angle change or something as trivial as that. Any later change, meaningful and intended, should be saved and consumed immediately.

Say I have a derived fixture inside the manufacturing model of a design. I want to make a change on the fixture but to do that I have to open the source. I am that prompted to save the source (a plugin induces a change as soon as I open it but the change is meaningless in this context so I should not have to save) yet if I save, the reference is out of date so now I have to go out of the manufacturing model, call Get Latest, then go back to the manufacturing model and make the changes I wanted to the derive.

Fusion"s designs become easily dirty. Just change the camera angle a bit to
look at the part and it is "changed".

I also have a custom plugin that may automatically updates some values in
the CAM side of things on open. Again, the design is immediately dirty.

But it matters not what triggers the change, I should have an option to
discard it.

With a design I want to export, I can undo all changes with CTRL+Z and then
execute export.

But with a derive feature I want to edit I don't get a chance to undo
since the prompt to save preempts any other UI features.
