Deployable structure - Assemble Join - How it works?

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to understand the join feature in Fusion 360. I want to create an objet that is deployable using revolution join. But when I'm connecting almost all my rotation point everything seems to go well, until I try to connect the three last points. All my structure goes freak! Maybe, I started all my project wrong.

Also, I wish that the different pieces don't overlap since it is impossible, is there anyway to make the pieces touch each others but don't overlap?

I don't really understand well the Capture position feature. So maybe a make that too often for nothing.

I give you access to my file so you can see what I'm working on.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

That link doesn't seem to work. Can you export the design as an f3d file and attach, you'll get more interest if you upload your models rather than use share links.

Oh sorry,

Here is the image.Structure_deployable.jpg

And here is a new link for the file online if needed. https://a360.co/2KR94be

I tryied to create join limits... and it seems to work again until the last one. And I also tryied to connect two piece and then duplicate them. But doesn't seems to work.

If you activate the motion animation model, it works well for all the joints that are assemble. It gives a great idea of what the mouvement should be.

Thanks for your help!

The reason you cannot apply the last few joints is because your sketch is not as precise as you intend for it to be.

It lacks a few constraints.

Thank you so much Peter for these explanations.

It is clear and I can say I understand more the way I must use the joints and also the constrains in the sketch.
I really appreciated! Smiley Happy
