Default Units

I have my default units set to imperial in preferences but whenever I import a STEP file it seems to choose anything it likes. How can I ensure everything imports displaying imperial units unless I explicitly change it to metric?

The STEP format includes a units definition.  Fusion obeys the units set in a STEP file, overriding any default units you have set.  There is no way to automatically change imported STEP geometry away from the units contained in that file.  You will have to manually change the units after import.

Thanks for the response. Is there any way to make suggestions to Autodesk to change this (suggest new feature)?
