For several days I have problems with the datanmangentment. When read STEP files it takes forever, or does not go where alleged network problems to be the reason.

Well today I have designed and saved my CNC machine finished. Then I finished fusion and wanted now to change something. At the start of fusion it shows my file though but there is a sign that he is busy. And I can not open my file.

Hi @Anonymous,

I would really like to understand why it takes a long time to convert the STEP file on your computer. Could you tell me more about what you mean with alleged network problems?

If you upload and convert your file locally does it show different behavior instead of the Cloud upload. Here is link to Fusion 360 Help which explains how to import data into Fusion import and work with STEP files. I can really recommend this video here as well, it is very helpful. Can you see If the file has been saved fully before you close Fusion? You can open A360 after closing Fusion and check if the file has been saved.

Here are two more options how to import the file:

1.One thing you could try is to import your file in Work offline mode, save it locally and upload it later to the cloud

2. You can import your file through A360 and check If it successfully saves

I hope this information helps to import your file

Thanks,

Sorry to hear about this issue. If you can share the diagnostic log files (command located in help menu) with us, it may provide more insight.

Please try the following to resolve the issue quickly:
1. Manually select to work offline on the offending computer
2. Open the design with the issue from the data panel while in offline mode
3. Save a new version of the design while in offline mode.
4. Go back online and see if the design will save/sync/open.

You can read more about offline mode in the below link.
How to work in offline mode in Fusion 360

I hope that helps!

Thanks,

Are you able to open the files from data panel? What happens when you do, is there an error message? Are you online or using offline mode?

There is an issue we are tracking with the save and quit option in Fusion 360. After using the save and quit command, the "syncing" glyph (rotating glyph on top of design thumbnail in the data panel), appears. In the case below, I note that the glyph goes away after opening the file.

We are looking into this issue. However, if you use the Save command instead of the Save and Quit command, I believe this will resolve the issue.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

I'm always in ONLINE mode.

as long as the "syncing" glyph (glyph rotating on top of design thumbnail in the data panel) running I can not edit the file with the right mouse button. However, with double click I can open it and resave.

But now I have again the problem that I can not read STEP files. The STEP files I downloaded from the company ITEM profile systems and the already repeatedly. So far it has funktionoert, but now it no longer is, the import is completed without any error messages after a while.

Can you try using the Create Design from File option located in the File menu to open the STEP file?

In the Project and/or folder on the Autodesk 360 Dashboard (https://myhub.autodesk360.com), do you find any import reports/translation reports in a PDF format?

Thanks,
