Cutting through all components of a sub assembly with combine.

Hello,

I am trying to make a cavity through a sub assembly using the combine tool. I am able to use the rod as a tool but it is only able to cut through one selected body and not the full assembly. Hopefully that makes sense?

Thanks for the help. Capture.JPG

I found a workaround. I broke the link of the sub assembly and was able to combine, cut and keep tool. Did that three times for each component and it worked.

If there is a better way, I'd be interested.

Thanks.

You can't cut linked files directly.  You can cut each linked object using Edit In Place.

Hi! Or derive the assembly and make the cut there.

Many thanks!
