Customize parts list

Good afternoon.

The baloon/parts list feature is great and working perfectly for me, however I have a parts list that I need customizing in some ways:

-All the text is in english, while that's not a problem to me it might be for the people who are actually going to read the drawing and assemble/make the parts for I live in Brazil.

-The parts list contains more information (i.e. description) than needed so i'd like to remove some of the columns to make the drawing cleaner.

I looked around and couldn't find where to do this, is there anyway to customize these parameters?

If not, it would be nice to be able to change text and add/remove parameters to the parts list because at the moment the option we have is to do the parts list in a .pdf editor which takes a lot more time than using the parts list feature.

Thanks for your attention

Hi engenharia02Mobilis,

Currently customization of the parts list is not possible.  The contents in the table come directly from information in the model.  You can't edit the table directly in the drawing, but any changes to the Properties for the components in the design will be reflected in the drawing part list:

To edit these in the model, right-click the Component in the browser and then select Properties.  Hopefully this work for you, but this too will take some extra time.  We do have table editing/customization on the roadmap but this will still be a number of releases out.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi engenharia02Mobilis,
We may also support export the parts list (.CSV format) in the near future. You can modify the parts list in Microsoft Office Excel. Do you think this functionality can help to resolve/alleviate your problem?
Thank you

Hi man,

I´m spanish and had the same issue. All you have to do is save it as a dwg file and then open it in AutoCad. Double clic on the table, and then on the text, and you can edit everything.

Hi @Anonymous,

To export Fusion Drawing in DWG format :

1. Open Fusion Drawing

2. In Toolbar, use Output -> Output DWG option

Its been quite a few releases since this post, any knews? This feature would be really useful as currently the only way to edit the table is to edit the components in it, I would love this to work the other way round too. I am currently in the middle of a project that requires parts to be grouped into sections depending on there purpose, however I am unable to 1. add an extra column 2. edit any information on the list 3. determine the order of whats on the list. I was almost certain I would get an 'edit part list' icon come up when i clicked on it, but nope.

Hey , this is actually really helpful! Thankyou.

HOWEVER-------FUSION (im looking at you).........We shouldnt need workarounds for basic stuff like this!! Especially when they cost money!

@Anonymous , We're aware this is an area that needs attention... the team is working as quickly as they can to address all of the gaps in the Drawings workspace. Thanks for your patience, and feel free to keep an eye on what the team is actively working on here

Hi Timera,

Its nice to know progress is being made, and I understand these things are prioritised through popular interest on these forums etc. I do however question why things like 'better experience for add title block' would be prioritised over 'custom sheet sizes'. Surely we should be expanding the capabilities of the programme before trying to improve whats already there? There are alot of missing features in this programme that cause direct limitations to my workflow, the quality of experience for a specific feature does not limit my work.

Thankyou.

Hi,

Just as there are users like you who want new features, there are those who prefer to first fix bugs in the existing system.

And my perception is that this group is much larger.

'better experience for add title block' is not a bug its UX/UI. I too agree that bugs should be prioritised.

Hi, it's been 3 years so I'm assuming this feature must by now be implemented but I can't seem to find a way to do it. Perhaps you could point me in the right direction? I simply want to be able to remove a row from the parts list, because in order to hide some bodies in an exploded view using the animation tab I had to convert them to components. This now means I have a component listed that I don't need.

After typing this I figured out a work around where I had to create a new view off sheet with the component suppressed and created the parts list from that. It seems that a significant portion of my time using Fusion is taken up by doing convoluted work arounds to achieve what should be done through basic features.
