Hello ,

I am using a Custom Environment for a rendering . But I have one problem , When I use a Custom Environment and select the flatten Ground , the Environment gets stretched at bottom ground ends. See the 1st image  . I need a Ground plane and also a Flatten ground as the model is a Car . What can I do . If I do not select the flatten ground , see the image 2 what result I get . I want my car to be on ground so I can see the shadows and details , It will help to look more realistic . This issue occurs with every Custom environment attached . Please help me Out . or give me some ideas .

Thanks in Advance .,Flatted ground.pngSecondSecond

The second one looks more natural but both are missing the shadows under the car.

Sorry, I'm not an expert in rendering.  I'll try to alert some of the graphics team to see if they are able to comment.

Hey Sanket,

I think the "flatten ground" behavior is expected. It has to stretch and make it flat. Meanwhile, it seems disabling the option will give better result in your case. I think you could either adjust your camera view or adjust the position of the environment in order to show car and shadows on the ground.

See the image for details. Let me know if it doesn't work on your side.

Cheers,

Zhihao

Thanks @Zhihao.Li @jeff_strater for help .

Yes , Flatten ground causes problem . Same , I used only Ground plane and adjusted according to the environment  .

I got better results for rendering . I think , that flatten ground does'nt help at all . See the following image , I just used Ground plane and adjusted the environment accordingly .Lamborghini Huracan SUBIR DEB v20hjkj.pngBoth are Rendered using Ground plane , I got the shadows . Lamborghini Huracan SUBIR DEB v20fff.png

Looks GREAT!

you have Ground Plane ON, Flatten Ground OFF and Reflections OFF?

any other settings for camera, environment, etc? what are specifics with your HDRI image?

Any detail you can give is tremendously appreciated. I've just been getting my feet wet with Scene Settings...

Best,

Pat
