Curved track and wheel

Hello everyone.

Is anyone able to help me with the attached? Basically I am trying to get the wheel to follow the track. Eventually there will be a pair of these attached to the bottom of a panel and multiple panels to form a door. I have managed to get the top plate to swivel and the wheel to move along the track when dragged, but it won't follow the curve.

Your only hope to have a model follow a curved track is to use the Tangent Relationship Assembly command.  In the attached video I try to explain how I used it to guide a model train along a curved track.  In the video you will note the use of two pins that run in a guide track, which is hidden in the final model, to keep the train following the curved track.  You will probably need a separate component to serve as a guide for you system because applying a Tangent Relationship between a round track and a formed round wheel will be next to impossible.   I have attached the model I used in the video for you to play with. Look for the "Drive Me" Joint in the main assembly.  I never got around to making the train run with this Joint in the right direction.  Good Luck!

Hi John,

Thanks for the video and explanation of the best way to attack it. I have created a couple of guide pins on the wheel and placed a guide track underneath, but it all seems to be kind of locked and not really wanting to behave as you train does. Wondered if you have any further thoughts or suggestions?
