Cursor Identification

Is there a document that shows the different cursors and explains what they are? I find it frustrating that the cursor changes but I don't know the meaning of them. Normally when I am close to the Browser the cursor is a black arrow, but sometimes it is a white arrow with a left pointing fat arrow, what is that? It took a long time to know what the project cursor was. Having a quick guide to cursors would really help my learning. Thank you.

Did you ever get answer or figure out? Some people have the knack for figuring this stuff out quickly and moving on. I am not one of them...

What cursors are you asking about? Are you looking for midpoint and endpoint cursors? Function cursors?

I never found any documentation on the cursors. I did figure out some of them but it would speed learning to have a chart with all cursors and their meaning. For the programers I expect they have one. It would be nice to see the whole list.

If it is the midpoint cursor and end point cursor etc. these cursor symbols are generic for all programs. If you aren't able to find them through fusion, you could definitely find them in an online GD&T book. As far as function cursors go, those are the same symbols as what is beside the symbol name in the drop down menu.

In the modelling window, it goes into a mode where instead of normal black
arrow at 45 deg angle when you hover over the view cube in U right corner,
cursor becomes 2 white arrows at right angles to each other.

There are a lot of cursor shifts in F360:
in orbit, the curly orbit cursor shifts to a "roll L-R) arrow
or somehow, it can also become a "fore-aft" roll arrow

I love these, but I can't figure out how to get them to appear at will, i
just have to hover around various places (mostly in the lower 3rd of
screen?) until one appears.

Just a list, the symbol = blah blah

I understand completely. I am not aware of an actual list. Maybe @Phil.E may know of a list of all the different cursors and their meanings.

Mostly what you describe (trying hard to interpret here) sound like navigation modes.

First the view cube:

You are dragging the view cubeYou are dragging the view cube

If you pick something it will happenIf you pick something it will happen

Next, for orbit command:

Free orbit, anything goesFree orbit, anything goes

Hula hoop style orbitHula hoop style orbit

End over end style orbitEnd over end style orbit

Orbit like clock handsOrbit like clock hands

Move away and click to exit orbitMove away and click to exit orbit

Regarding navigation, there are also mouse/keyboard commands that do all of this, so perhaps also check out the quick setup guide for navigation tips.

Try this outTry this out

*There are more than one style of navigation controls - I prefer Tinkercad style.

If there are more cursor icons you have questions about, post up some screenshots and tell me what you are doing in them. Glad to help!

GUYS! I found the solution!

I have found, that this happens because of the "scroll right/left" function of my mouse. I just wen to G-Hub and disabled it.
