Current location of thread Data

Trying to create a custom thread and of long standing tradition the 1st step equals 1st hurdle, finding the threaddata folder so I can get to the next hurdle 😊

Best I can figure is the folders and file names have changed since the tutorial was created.

Tutorial shows

%localappdata%\Autodesk\webdeploy\Production\<version ID>\Fusion\Server\Fusion\Configuration\ThreadData

Particularly looking for the ACMEScrewThreads.xml

Any one know where these files are located in the current version

Thanks

Ken

Unfortunately the threaddata folder often gets moved when Fusion receives an update. It's a real pain to do it manually so I use the ThreadKeeper add-in which makes it so much easier.

BTW my current path is: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\48ac19808c8c18863dd6034eee218407ecc49825\Fusion\Server\Fusion\Configuration\ThreadData

I've created a Windows application (and now Mac as well) for creating custom thread files for Fusion. You can find out about it here. Hope you find it useful.
If you need to know how to offset threads for 3D printing then I've created a guide here which you might find useful.
If you would like to send me a tip for any help I've provided or for any of my software applications you've found useful, you can do this via my Ko-Fi page here.

Thanks again Marcus, three hour so far and have got nowhere 😞 all in a days hassle I guess.

Windows search is really acting weird will not find files I know are there but is finding files not in search criteria. I'm sure Windows 11 will be better LOL

Again, no problem. yes, I find the built-in Windows 10 search a waste of time mostly so I use 'Everything' and it does a superb job (YMMV of course).

Good 😉

BTW, you might already have a favourite XML editor but I use XMLPad. You can do it all in a text editor such as Notepad but it's easy to get the formatting wrong which can make Fusion 360 choke!
