Creating instances with different user parameters

I modeled a helical gear using user parameters to specify the number of teeth and the angle of the twist, and I would like to model an assembly of several of these gears. Is there a way to make several instances of my "template" gear and use different values for the user parameters for each instance?

If you've followed Rule#1 and used a component then you can use Copy, Paste New to get an independent copy. Or if you only have one body in a design you can insert it into another design then break the link and each copy you insert will have independent parameters.

Once you follow Rule #1 to break the link, you'll find that Fusion renames the parameters to be globally unique.  That makes its complicated to know what parameters go with which component.  That is what caused me to post the following idea on Ideastation:  Parameter Uniqueness per Component - https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/ideastation-request-a-feature-or/parameter-uniqueness-per-component-n....

If that would help in this situation (or others you've seen), please upvote it so we can get these features implemented!

Thanks...

Agreed.

Autodesk needs to look at how Catia does "User Features" this allows instantiation of catalog geometry with repetition within a part, and each instance can be modified independently of the other.

I have a similar issue where I'd like to model a bicycle cassette and use a template for each gear and where i can set a tooth count for each and have the sprocket alter shape accordingly.

So, in short, there is not a solution for using different user parameters on different instances of a component.

The solution presented here is to create entirely separate components (not instances) each with their own values for the "parameters", essentially foregoing the the main nature of parameters and instead using them as named constants.
