Creating gcode from photo

Does anyone know if it's possible to generate gcode from a Jpeg, png, or other photo file type? I have a laser engraving machine (zmorph w/voxelizer software) that I would like to use to create images on wood. The native software is a little weak when used for this purpose and am looking for a solution to get better results.

not directly within fusion, no.  fusion needs vector or solid data input.  I can only guess at your application since you didn't include an example of what you want to convert, but there are utilities out there that can take photos and create mesh objects that can then be used in fusion.  blender can be used for this, but has a steep learning curve.  I have used a free program in the past called extrudy that worked well also, might want to give that a try.  here's a link-

I'm not sure whether it's compatible with your laser but have you considered LightBurn?

EDIT: There's also LaserGRBL which is free, but LightBurn is far more capable.

If this answers your question please mark the thread as solved as it can help others find solutions in the future.

I've created a Windows application (and now Mac as well) for creating custom thread files for Fusion. You can find out about it here. Hope you find it useful.
If you need to know how to offset threads for 3D printing then I've created a guide here which you might find useful.
If you would like to send me a tip for any help I've provided or for any of my software applications you've found useful, you can do this via my Ko-Fi page here.

Hi,

As suggested, LightBurn is the software you want.

LightBurn has the capability to burn an image and has a number of settings for different types of image. It will

burn simple newsprint dot style images up to complex full colour jpgs. The finished product will be mono but the

image will look like a colour photo printed in black and white. I am aware of some Laser Cutters that have limited

colour capability and LightBurn is more likely to support them as it is one of the most popular software types in

use.

Cheers
