Creating drawings for subassemblies

I've made a design that has two levels of components. The root level has two subassemblies, which in turn have their own components. I was able to create a drawing from an animation that shows how the two subassemblies go together, but I'm having problems making drawings of the individual subassemblies.

On the drawings for the original subassemblies, I can add a Parts List, but it only shows the root level parts list (Subassembly A, Subassembly B) and not the individual components of the subassembly I want to show.

Is the best approach to make a bottom-up design with each of the subassemblies in their own file?

Hi,

You are right: currently Fusion drawing parts list only shows components at the first level of the model reference.

If you want to show individual components in a subassembly, one solution is to create a base view which suppresses other subassemblies. Using following picture as an example:

1. an assembly has two subassemblies: A, B. Subassembly A has two components A-1, A-2; Subassembly B has two components B-1,B-2.

2. If you want to show A-1, A-2 in a parts list, go to Base View command, place a base view.

3. in the browser, suppress B by toggling suppress check box of B.

4. launch Parts list command, select the view, place the parts list.
