Creating Appearance Libraries and Categories

Hi.  I am trying to set up an organised library of custom appearances, based on, for example, colours of high pressure laminate (of which there are many).  Currently I have uploaded a few into the Favorites library by editing an existing plastic - all good.  I have then gone into the material browser and under the Appearance tab, created a new library and copied my new appearance into that new library.  Looks fine, but when I come out and back into Appearances, my new library is not shown - only the original Fusion 360 Appearances, My Appearances and Favorites.  They are listed under Physical Material, but not in Appearances,  I have also tried making categories under the Favourites library - again this looks successful in the Material Browser, but in that case they nether appear in Appearances or Physical Material.  Would appreciate if you could explain how to get visibility of the libraries and/or categories in Appearances menu/box.  Thanks!

After some more attempts, I have concluded that the only way round this is to make custom libraries and/or categories in the material browser and then copy them into the favourites library as and when required in each design, which is fine as far as it goes, but seems counter-intuitive, like the concept has not been fully developed/concluded?
