Create cut body for cylinder

I'm in the process of creating a stand up paddelboard adaptor for my battery powered inflator. I'm struggling with finding the best/most efficient way to trim the model on the curved surface. I used a revolve to establish the basic body, but I'm stuck on how to trim/split the solid to create the interfacing features to the paddle board itself. Attached image shows the part I'm using as reference. Any help on what direction to go would be appreciated!! Thanks!

A few ways to do that, Sweep / thicken, Loft > Cut, Deboss,

the 1st one, and then Circular Pattern.

Might help...

Hi,

Usually we ask for the file to be attached so we can see what you have done to try to help you. Do this like this:

A way to do what you want is to create a sketch on the plane in the shape you want and extrude cut.

Then use fillets to get the final shape.

Rinse and repeat on the other side.

Cheers

Thanks for the quick replies - I went the emboss route using an offset sketch which was probably more complicated but got the job done. I'm going to go back and see if I can simplify based on your suggestions! Thanks.

Be careful about Andrew's version, the difference with Emboss / and Extrude cut, is how the cut wall angles are treated.
