crash after crash

Awesome to see that stability is as always zero priority for the F360 team.

Just installed a new update.
Tried to open a drawing that I need for a high priority project and it crashed.
Tried a couple more times and it crashed.
Restarted my computer because once that resolved similar issues I was having but that didn't help.
Tried opening another drawing and that opened.
Tried opening a different drawing that I hadn't changed in a number of updates and it crashed.
So Autodesk you have about a half dozen crash reports from me. Yes F360 is actually giving me crash reports about 40% of the time so woot for that I guess.

I have also started an invoice and will be tracking my time lost to Fusion360 bugs and crashes at a rate of $80/hr.
I know that some number of crashes, bugs or issues should be expected but at a point "stable, production ready, non beta" software that shouldn't be about 40% of the time you spend using the software.
Every time I loose time like this I loose money. AD doesn't seem to give a S and just wants me to voulenteer more time to make their software better with no benefit to me. So from now on you are on the clock AD.

I can't speak for Yoshi but the best apology would be not to have a repeat of the same thing.

I tried this on my laptop and it had the same issue. I find it more odd that you didn't have the issue when it sounds like everyone should.
Are you sure the drawings you tried to open hadn't been opened before that date? For me it didn't seem to be drawings before july. But drawings from before may would not open on either computer.
I expect the reason that 3 people (If that is the real number. Seems hard to believe) out of thousands reported a problem is most likely because probably one in 500 users actually uses F360 in a serious or professional manner.

Would have made me no less screwed and no more happy about the situation.

At least it was fixed quickly so I guess we should be happy about that.

Agreed

Should we start a pool on what and when the next big glitch, crash, issue or step backward will be?

I mean.. if they continue on the same path, then it's most likely the next release, so there's no gambling involved 🙂

Definitely, yeah.

Also very much agreed - fix the problem, not the blame.

I have zero doubt that everyone on the F360 team means well.

Actually, that's why I think they should be the most gung ho about taking a bit to resolve more or less every CER bucket.

Why spend your time and effort on making something that's nearly great (with a lot of marketing hot air) when you could make something that's legitimately insanely great ?

I would bet money on it it`s a problem between fusion and the hardware on you computer, there is that many different types of graphics`s card`s, harddrives, ram and other bits out there it would be hard to get each type correct, that is what stands out to me, I have the same problem with computer`s used as machine controller`s

if I could I would just send you a gaming laptop to see if it help`s. I could give you a link to get one from amazon.

I when through 20 drawings going back to feb this year the feb one where last opened in feb I only found a slow down, that shows the problem did not have to much of a effect on my laptop, I am getting a big file to use for testing on my laptop, when I am finished I will send you a copy if it crashes your computer and if you get a log it should point to the problem. I am not the only one who use`s it so it`s a non NDA file for you to send in and AD will have other report`s from the same file.

They said they stuffed up what`s pretty big of them they owned there mistake what not many company`s let there staff do, it is still bad what they did but they fixed it before they said the fix was going out what show`s they did a fix for the 3 or what ever out of how ever many user`s there are that had this problem

agreed

there are two thing`s I would like fusion to have in cam what is a hard task to do.

the 2D drawing need`s a lot of improvement there is to many little funny things that can happen that make something I do take far to long to do, I can do a basic cabinet with dado`s and rabbits all fully defined parameters so it`s just change a parameter and it all work`s very nice.

when I try to use fancy joint`s I have to work out how to use them what is so far 10 hours for one type.
