How do I copy a sketch from one component and paste it into several new components sketch without breaking the link. So that editing the original sketch automatically updates all the other sketches

You can't really copy a sketch by itself to other components. The way you keep the same sketch linked in multiple components is by creating a component then create multiple copies of that component, but they will be linked in everything not just the sketch.
The only way I could think of to get all sketches exactly the same inside of multiple components that are not linked with each other and when editing one the rest update is by using the same parameters.

Thanks Saeed,

I have already copied the same sketch int multiple components. But they are not linked.

I'm not sure what you mean by "by using the same parameters". Can you elaborate please.

Thanks Arthur

Hi

Create an external sketch file and insert it into individual components using the derived function.

Thanks guys, this has given me direction but has not really fixed my problem. I want to use/derive a sketch from one component, into another component, within the same design. Fusion won't allow me to do that, I Think, because it cannot be done within the same design i.e. it must be in a different design. Please correct me if I'm wrong, and tell me how I can do it?

Have you tried this.

Create a component then create a sub-component to contain the sketch you want to copy.

Now create a second component and copy\paste the sketch component from the first component. You can even use joint to position the sketch component in the second component. See attached basic design.
