Copy body without links

Hello,

I created a body. Then copied and pasted as new component. The original had some user variables. In the copy I wanted to change an extrusion length that was set to a user variable to a fixed value. But if I change the copy, the original changes too. Its as if the history is still shared. There is no button to break the link. If I stop the history then the extrusion only shows up in the original. How can I create a completely independent copy?

Can this be done or do I have to copy it into a complete own document?

In the open assembly, right click on the component with the parameters in the browser, select Save Copy As and save it to your file location by a new name.  Then Insert it back into the assembly, right click on it and break the link.  If you look at the parameter table, you will have separate parameters for both components.

first, do you mean "body" or "component"?  This is important, as they behave differently.  If you are copy/pasting bodies, they will be independent.  Copy/Paste of components will just create an instance of the component, which does share geometry with all instances.  So, we need some more information - please share the model and a screencast/images of what you are trying to do to get a better answer.
