If you want to copy to a new project I think the only way is to download the 2d drawing using a share link. When you download a drawing as a Fusion archive you get an FZ3 file that contains the model and the drawing. You then upload through fusion's data panel to the new project.

@Anonymous, @HughesTooling is correct - this is the best workaround available today. We do have teams working on a proper "copy design with drawings" implementation that will be available later this year and will make your lives much easier. Stay tuned!

Best,

Timera

Dear Timera, is this feature already implemented in some form?

Thanks,

@alexandwirtz - the workflow that @HughesTooling describes here is the solution at the moment. The team is still intent on solving this in a better way in the future, but this is the current workflow to copy a model with a drawing.

Timera

@TimeraAutodesk Are you working on a solution for designs with more than one linked 2d drawing? I have some assembly designs where I've needed to create multiple drawings because a template that creates several sheets only works with a new drawing.

Thanks Mark

That is definitely a frustrating current limitation. We are planning on addressing handling models with multiple drawings, but it is not yet in progress.

@justinWP97Q this functionality is currently being ironed out, and it is available to select customers under a feature flag (preview whitelist). If you're interested in having this preview functionality turned on, and providing feedback on it, please send me an email directly to timera.hart@autodesk.com

+1 for hoping this feature gets implemented.  I have built a large assembly for new design, and created all the shop prints to build the first prototype.  Now making changes for Rev 2.  Since design is an iterative process, sometimes you liked the first idea better, so I always copy everything to a new project before starting the next revision.  PLEASE incorporate this feature as soon as possible.

Had to do this again today... It would be really nice if you could copy a drawing / assembly and decide what things to copy and what things to keep as a reference. For example I tried the hack above with a large assembly with a bunch of nuts / bolts and got a bunch of duplicate subassemblies, nuts and bolts in my workspace.

Hi @TimeraAutodesk

Not sure how to tag Clint.Brown but is there an update on this feature or is there a way to join the feature flag to get early access to this feature as it is needed in my role.

Thanks Jack

Hi @jack.scolding and @pavmed

This project is ongoing, it is a bigger project as it involves more than just the drawings team. Let me check in with the larger group and come back to you.

Hi @pavmed @jack.scolding

I've just had a meeting internally and this project is ongoing, but there are a lot of moving parts.

If you are interested in chatting to @helfenj and me about your specific requirements, we'd love to chat to you. Please send me a message, Clint. Brown {a} Autodesk.com and I'll set something up.

@ClintBrown3D @helfenj Is there any progress on this? I have a project that I need to make a new revision for today but it is a model with multiple associated drawings which will be a lot of work if I have to remake them all.
I also have another very complex project that will need updating soon with dozens of drawings and that will be absolute hell without some kind of appropriate linked update feature.

Thanks.
