converting a crv file

I recently bought out a shop and the purchase came with a lot of great crv files for VCarve pro.  My understanding is that crv files are a Coral product that VCarve Pro uses and I don't own either program nor am I interested in purchasing either program.  Is there anyway to convert these files so I can use them in Fusion 360?  Dan

Uploading to the Data Panel in Fusion 360
Uploading a design to the Fusion 360 Data Panel uses the cloud translation process to immediately translate designs into the native Fusion 360 format (.f3d). This process requires that you are working online. The following file types can be uploaded into Fusion 360 through the Data Panel:

  • Autodesk Alias (*.wire)
  • AutoCAD DWG Files (*.dwg)
  • Autodesk Fusion 360 Archive Files (*.f3d)
  • Autodesk Fusion 360 Toolpath Archive Files (*.cam360)
  • Autodesk Inventor Files (*.ipt, *.iam)
  • CATIA V5 Files (*.CATProduct, *.CATPart)
  • DXF Files (*.dxf)
  • FBX (*.fbx)
  • IGES (*ige, *iges, *igs)
  • NX (*prt)
  • OBJ (*.obj)
  • Parasolid Binary Files (*.x_b)
  • Parasolid Text Files (*.x_t)
  • Pro/ENGINEER and Creo Parametric Files (*.asm, *.prt)
  • Pro/ENGINEER Granite Files (*.g)
  • Pro/ENGINEER Neutral Files(*.neu)
  • Rhino Files (*.3dm)
  • SAT/SMT Files (*.sab, *.sat, *.smb, *.smt) - (note: Fusion only supports up to ACIS version 7 - later versions of ACIS SAT files will not be uploaded)
  • SolidWorks Files (*.prt, *.asm, *.sldprt, *.sldasm) (note: SolidWorks drawings, *.slddrw, cannot be opened in Fusion 360)
  • STEP Files (*.ste, *.step, *.stp)
  • STL Files (*.stl)
  • SketchUp Files (*.skp)

If you can leave your file in any of these extensions will be able to work in Fusion 360.

I hope this can help with your work!

Greetings.

Thanks for the quick and very detailed response--very helpful.  I haven't had a chance to try this yet but I'm afraid .crv files are propitiatory to Vcarve and cannot be translated at least directly into Funsion 360.  I'll let you know how this works out.  Dan

What I have discovered is that .crv files are exclusive to Vcarve software and will not work anywhere else.  If you have the software (or know someone who has) you can export the file to drx svg ai pdf or eps!

I think you are correct. If you have the trial version you are limited with how you can export or save as using VCarve unless you pay for a full version.
