Contact Set Getting Stuck

Hello:  I've a contact set that is kind of working but gets stuck halfway up a cam. I would use a motion link but can't use one in this situation, as far as I know. CPU is not going higher than 20% use; GPU not going higher than 30%, on pretty new desktop with decent specs (i7, RTX 2070, 16GB RAM). Model only has one contact set atm.  The lever that is moved up by the cam has enough clearance in the joint to allow it to move through the whole motion. The joint is set to "rest" so that it behaves like it was springed to keep it down against gear and cam. I am attaching f3d file in case you would like take a look.  Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I am trying to model this:

I would think it would work but the contact set is trying to violate your joint limits and rest position. However, even when i open it up a few degrees it still sticks. Part of that is how contact sets work and it might be that a motion link is the right call.

Thanks for your reply, Ryan.   Yeah, I don't see why it doesn't work, except that maybe it's too computationally intensive.  Not sure how to set up a motion link with this unless there is some way to create keyframes, which I don't think there is with motion links.  Maybe I can create an animation in the animation workspace since it offers keyframes.

A Motion Study will be your best bet.  You have guessed the reason Contact Sets are not working, in your case.  The sliding between very acute surfaces, especially when the surfaces have "multi-contact" areas are impossible in Fusion 360.  You could try and replace the contact lever end with a sphere to provide simple contact calculation.  This is what we used to do in Inventor for complex contact set motion but I still doubt Fusion 360 will be able to handle it.

Thanks for your reply.  I'll have to figure out if there's a way to do this with a motion study.  It's a shame because the inability to do it with a contact set really limits Fusion 360 when it comes to this type of mechanical modeling.
