Constructing Gothic Arch ~ Sweep Problem

I'm a beginner. I'm trying to make a simple gothic arch. I may be approaching this the wrong way, so feel free to make suggestions.

I sketched two vertical lines, a middle construction line and then two arcs that meet in the middle. Their radius is the distance between the vertical lines.

I created a new sketch with  a simple hexagon. It's perpendicular to the first sketch's plane. I try to sweep the hexagon shape along the two arcs from left to right, but the end is not parallel to the ground. It looks like a 45 degree angle.

How should I approach this?

Thank you. 🙂

EDIT:

To make it clear how this looks, if I put the object in a game that angled end doesn't sit on top of a column properly.

This is happening because your arc isn't tangent to the first line (you can tell it's not constrained because the point is white) and you put your profile on an origin plane.  As a result, the profile isn't normal to the arc, but rather at a slight angle realtive to the arc.  As is sweeps around the 2 arcs, the angle of the profile relative to the path is maintaned, so it looks even worse on the oppisite end.

2 possible fixes-

1: constrain the arcs so they are tangent to the vertical lines, then sweep as you have here

2: extened the arcs a little past the lines.  Create a "plane along path" on an arch.  create your sketch and profile on the plane.  sweep. trim profile with a horizontal line placed at the end of the vertical lines.

Thank you.

Your first suggestion didn't seem to work, but the second did.

"Create a plane along path' on an arch" was also very helpful. I didn't realize that created a plane normal to the path, which is what I wanted originally.

I deleted and recreated my sketch. I paid closer attention to constraints.

Everything is constrained except the end of the arc.

I then added the second arc. I couldn't mark that as a tangent because I got an overconstrained error for some reason, so I just moved on.

I then made the two arc end points coincident.

Then added the plane along the path which was just perfect. I added a construction line in the first sketch so I could constrain the polygon.

And the sweep worked perfectly this time.

And imported into the game. It's a good start. On to the next part.

Thank you!
