Just keeps hogging away with my adaptive clearing bit when it should change to a horizontal clearing and a smaller bit.

If the tools have different numbers it should stop. Are you using a standard post or something you modified? Going to need more info, if possible can you share the design? Use Export and save as an f3d and attach.

Can you export the design and attach. The download links are a time waster. also which post processor did you use?

Thanks Mark

Yes, they need to match the tool library in your control.

Both tools are still #1 in your file you attached. Where did you renumber them, you need to renumber in the document library not your main libraries.

Export your file and attach again. Still don't think you said which post processor you're using.

Something is odd in the gcode:

  • %
    (1001)
    (T2  D=0.1252 CR=0.0626 - ZMIN=-0.324 - BALL END MILL)
    (T3  D=0.25 CR=0. - ZMIN=-0.2753 - FLAT END MILL)
    N10 G90 G94 G17 G91.1
    N15 G20
    N20 G53 G0 Z0.
    (ADAPTIVE3)
    N25 M9
    N30 T3 M6
    N35 T2
    N40 S16000 M3
    N45 G54
    N50 G0 X1.7231 Y2.164

There is no other toolchange after N35.  I'm using LinuxCNC post.  Tool Ids were changed.  Setup1 was the input folder for post.

Think the T2 on line 35 is a preselect for a tool changer. So T3M6 will load the tool from a tool changer and line 35 preselects the next tool ready for the next operation. Need to know what post processor he's using and does his control have a tool changer and support preselection.

Don't think that's one of the generic posts, can you attach it to this thread? Also the latest version on your file just so I'm looking at the same file as you.

Thanks Mark
