Configuration vs Render environment

Hi,
How should we proceed to modify the configurations of the components configured directly from the render environment?

Thx

@mac_ito

We are currently providing the ability to author configurations in Design workspace only.  In the Render workspace you can switch between the defined configurations from the browser, but you cant change anything related to configurations there.  You should be able to create rendering of different configurations in the Render workspace, using the Local solve.  With the cloud solve there is a known problem where render does not pick up the active configuration.  We will be resolving this issue, but for now, you can use local solves.

Thank you @gautham_kattethota for that answer.

My question is, is it normal that it is not possible to select the configurations of a sub-assembly in the Rander environment as is the case in the design environment?

When you have several subsets, it is from my point of view simpler to select their configuration manually rather than with a large configuration table.

Having the option present in the design environment in that of the renders would be interesting.

@mac_ito Thanks for the clarification, i was a bit lost on your question.  Yes, it is as designed that you are able to switch configuration only in the Design space.  The other workspaces, like Render, are consuming Configurations that have been authored or consumed in the Design workspace.  Switching configurations is akin to making changes to the assembly and can only be done in the Design workspace.
