Concrete Material

Hi Folks,

Is there a way to add concrete or timber to the materials?

I am using Fusion to model some architectural components and some 3D details (since the modeling is sooo easy).

It would be great to be able to have more control.

I am Revit user, not really new the material editor and appearances concept.

Arroway textures. Not cheap, but worth every penny!

Hi,

If you're asking how to import a material into Fusion, then you need to go to edit > manage materials > Open Existing Library

inserting an appearence library.png

Other than that, you can just create a new material, or maybe edit one as you like ( there is a concrete material as default in Fusion and you can edit it ) but the appearance features in Fusion doesn't give as much properties as Revit does

For some reason CONCRETE is not in my default Fusion 360 material library. When I try to 'Open Existing Library' the popup asks me to choose a file locally- as in from my computer. I can see concrete listed if I search in the asset browser but no way to add it to my favorites or material library. Any insight appreciated.

I'm right there with you, this is maddening. They've put only 4 or 5 types of carbon steel in the library and least of all the most uncommon ones. All of the common materials appear in the asset browser. Why hasn't anyone from Autodesk jumped on this? Seems like a huge failure on their part!

For everyone wondering about the concrete material, I have found where it is hidden in the Fusion Appearances Library. Tricky to find, but it's under Other > Environment. Hope this helps!

I recommend using the search bar for materials. though that only works in the APPEARANCE command and not in the MATERIAL command, which I find a bit odd and inconsistant tbh
