Component suppression is greyed out

I am trying to create a configuration that suppresses "Stationary Jaw", but the suppression for the component, and all of the other components within "8in Kurt Vise", is greyed out. I am still learning configurations, so I am probably missing something. Any help is appreciated.

The main model is a Base Feature so it cannot participate in a Configuration.  The video will explain and show you how to get around it.

That solution worked perfectly. Thank you for the help.

It is a little odd to me that just copy/pasting the same component fixes it. Is it just a matter of base features being non parametric? There can still be components in a base feature right? Can you explain why it works like this?

You hit it on the head, the model has to be created in a Parametric Environment.  Sure, components can be created and exist in a Base Feature Environment but they cannot participate in a Configuration.  By copying the component and Pasting it, you move it into the parametric environment.  In the Animated GIF below, watch what happens when I remove the Design History (go to Base Feature environment), to my Configuration tool, it grays out.

Currently Fusion does not allow configuring suppression of component created from body. The "Stationary Jaw:1" component has been created from a body. Thus the suppression checkbox is greyed out.
