Component Properties - Material thickness Incorrect

In the attached model, the "Upright" Component has a 0.5" thickness and consists of two identical extrusions. When I run a BOM or look at the Component properties, it shows that the thickness (Length) is 7.38 in. Is this because I extruded the components together? I also included a screen shot of the properties. Help/guidance is greatly appreciated.

a body is not the same thing as a component.  A component can (and usually does) contain a body, but doesn't have to.  the only thing it really HAS to have in it is an origin, which is created at the same time you create the component.

You have 2 bodies in one component.  the properties dialog is giving you the properties for the totality of what is in the component.   There are lots of reasons why you might have more than one body in a component, but generally speaking, it is the norm/good practice to end up only having one body per component.

If you are referring to the dimension, under Bounding Box, in the Properties dialog that refers to the dimension of an imaginary box around the complete component.  In the screen capture below, I have shown the same dimension for the outside face of the two bodies contained in the component.  This is one dimension of that imaginary box.  The other two dimensions are the body physical measures.

Thanks. I did not realize that I had bodies. I converted the bodies to components which fixed the issue. Many thanks once again.

Hi John, I inadvertently created bodies during the extrude. I converted the bodies to components and re-ran the BOM. with accurate outcome/results.
