Component just blinks off

Trying to animate visibility of two components.

One component (Left:1) has 2 animation functions assigned (Transform and Show/Hide). It fades out as I would expect.

The other component (Blade Cradle:1) only has Show/Hide. It does not fade out, but simply blinks to "Hide" at the 7-second mark.

How can I make Blade Cradle:1 slowly fade like Left:1? Is it a requirement to have more than Show/Hide on a component for it to slowly fade out?

Please see accompanying video.

This is the Autodesk Basic Training demo file, BTW.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting! It looks like you are experiencing an issue in which the blade cradle component is not fading out over the intended time, but rather disappearing quickly at the end of the intended fade section.

I was able to recreate this issue in the same Basic Training file as you. It appears that this behavior may be based on the dark color of the Blade Cradle component - if you look closely and draw the fade out over a long period of time you can see that the visible edges do disappear before the component fully disappears.

I believe that the issue you are experiencing is due to the dark purple color of the Blade Cradle. Changing the appearance of the Blade Cradle to a variety of different colors improved the fade behavior. I have shown this in the screencast below:

I have also logged an issue with our development team about the fade behavior of the originally applied appearance (Plastic - Transparent Matte (Blue)) as FUPB-1107. I will circle back here to provide an update once the team has had a chance to address this problem - thank you for bringing this to our attention!
