Component counts and SW models

So, many years ago I did a design for a company in Solidworks. They've maintained and updated it over time and sent it back to me today to add some features. I wanted to use F360 for it now though. It imports into fusion ok the parts are not mated (no joints) they are frozen in place and can be moved with the move command but not dragged (not sure what is causing them to stay) So the first question is, it looks like there are 3-400 components in the assembly and I searched this forum for a way to get an accurate count but the information that turned up seemed old and doesn't seem to apply.

The second question is, What is the best approach to make joints for all these components? Just start at the feet and work up?

Edit: Components are frozen because design history is off by default.

Thanks

Glenn

Unfortunately, the only way to get component counts that I know of is to use a text command.  Turn on the text command area:

Make sure the text window is set to "Txt"

Then, type Component.Counts:

There is a lot of nonsense in there that is only useful for us developers, but the first two "LeafOccurrences" and "Bodies" are pretty meaningful counts,

A "LeafOccurrence" is a count of the total number of parts (via all paths through the assembly) in the design.

As to how to join this together, I would turn on history, the use Rigid Group to join things that are rigid (assuming they are in the correct place), and then use As-Built Joint to create any motion joints needed.  Should go pretty quickly, I think.

@jeff_strater That's perfect. thanks, I had similar instructions but I couldn't find the command line. Is there a list of other command-line things to play with?

On the joints, I'm already 1/2 way through it in about 1.5 hours so not too bad. There's some timing that's getting out of hand though and had to put it aside. I'm learning about motion links and may have pulled a brain ligament. There'll be more coffee in the morning.

Thanks Again
