Hi all,

I'm struggling to figure out the tutorials for how to get the sled/wheels/spacers to slide up and down with the main frame as a single unit.

i'm still learning fusion so any help would be great how to achieve it.

Since you do not have ANY Joints or Constraints applied to your assembly, I decided to create two Rigid Groups, one for the Main Frame and one for the Carriage.  I then use a Slider Joint between one of the wheels and the frame rail.  Model is attached.

@raptorhelicopter

@jhackney1972 demonstrated how to get the motion, but there are a number of other issues in the design that I would correct if it were my design.

Are you willing to start over to see how I would model the geometry?

Hi there, yes I'm happy to start again, I've never used anything like this before, happy to learn best ways.

You have done a lot of work, but I want to make sure that you learn best practices based on years of experience so that you do not get too deep into creating work that has to be reworked. (I assume this is not just an academic exercise and you are going to make real parts.)

Before demonstrating my techniques - these are the obvious issues that I found so far...

Appreciate the video.

One thing I should have said is this is a one off to get files to cut the flat 5mm plates on CNC plasma, I don't have a 4 axis so some bits will need to be cut and then angled via grinder.

Secondly, the wheels and U channel are bought, those are not actually being made by me, hence I didn't care about no tolerance built in. Worst case I will put oversize nylon wheels in lathe and clearance accordingly I figured. I don't have them yet to get actual sizes, I done this to get an idea for what I will need and what I could find available to order in UK. Now I know roughly what I need I would probably get something like-https://www.aluminiumwarehouse.co.uk/products/2-in-x-1-in-x-1-8-in-x-1-8-in-aluminium-channel?variant=423410...

Wheels- these will need modified slightly in lathe but quick job to allow for bolt, or I might find something else better suited with deeper look-https://www.castors-online.co.uk/product/icc-50mm-black-nylon-wheel-only-with-8mm-bore-4567?gad_source=1&gad...

I only really need the model to get a scale idea in cad and what brackets might look like to attach to my boat, plus the flat plates for cnc and round bars needed to cut/tig weld.

I didn't even know fusion could do some of the things in your video, appreciate the feedback and will start again. Stay tuned for MK2!!
