Combine function giving boolean errors

I am in the process of redesigning a face gasket with some ventilation holes. Unfortunately, in the process of making it I need to combine two bodies and the Combine function refuses to cooperate. I made sure both bodies are touching each other with no gaps as well. The OK button is greyed out, and it will try to delete what ever is selected as the tool body.

Does anyone know of a potential fix for this?
Additional note: I am on the latest version of Fusion: Personal EditionScreenshot 2025-09-06 124720.pngScreenshot 2025-09-06 124821.png

Hi @penguins759 ,

Could you please attach the mesh file (.stl/.obj) file and also previous designs you've completed in Fusion ?
Please export your design as a *.f3d or *.f3z file to your local drive and attach it to your reply.

Sure thing, unfortunately the f3d is too large to post but here is the obj file.

Alright I managed to get the f3d file uploaded to dropbox if you're alright with that.

@penguins759

Do you have access to the original geometry (not faceted triangular planar mesh with zero curves)?

Unfortunately no, the original creator of the base model did not provide any step or other source files for the model when they published it so this was as poly reduced as I could make it. Adding in the facial scan I did to make it custom fit, nearly set my pc on fire making it lol.

This is the original model for the face cover:

My recommendation would be to model high quality geometry from scratch rather than attempt to use this mesh.

That's understandable. I'll try and reach out to the original creator again and see if I can get their source model instead of the stl.

What prevents you from modeling this from scratch?
