Combine components but maintain parametric design?

I want to combine the bodies of two components so I can save a mesh for 3d printing.

Combine works well, but once I combine the components/bodies, the combined body is no longer controlled by the parameters of the individual components.

Currently, I kept them "uncombined" until I'm ready to save a mesh.  Then, I combine to save a mesh and undo after doing the save.

Is there a better way to do this?

I just made a sample assembly and performed what you described without issue.  You can see this in the video.  I attached my model so you can try it yourself.  Please attach your model to a reply post so the Forum users can take a look at it.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Sounds like a workflow problem to me, because I use that technique sometimes without loosing parametric control. Care to share you design?

I think you are correct!

I did it a little differently this time, and didn't create a new component.  I also used a different parameter to test.  Everything changed as it should.

Maybe changing the original parameter causes a problem even without the bodies being combined.  I jumped to a conclusion too soon.

Thanks
