Changing line weight and font size in 2D drawing projections

Anonymous

Looks like we are not able to change font size in:

New Drawing > From Design

as in in 2D drawing projections.

I am not able to do it, even when the dialog allows for

it after each double clicking of text label or text leader.

Correct?

Another problem:

I draw a text leader pointing to a space between two lines

to insert a note.

Meaning the arrow is not snapped to any object.

I do not want to snap the arrow to any object.

There is an exclamation mark icon at the end of the arrow

when this happens!

How do you remove that icon?

ilikef360,

There are three selectable choices presently that control Text height, .1 / .120 and .240 in inches, I presume similar in MM.

After clicking "Annotation Settings"  icon, select "Annotation text height"

There is no annotations settings for me.

Can you show step by step how you got to "Annotation Settings"  icon?

All I did was double click on the text.

There are 3 options to change size of font, but they do nto seems to work....

HAHA,

I had trouble locating it as well just last night when I was learning how to use it.

At very bottom center of page.

Also,

Don't believe you can change any of the text in the "Project" info area, that seems controlled by the sheet size.

When you hover over that it states it's a "Dissociated Annotation", no clue what that is, perhaps due to the fact that there is no recognizable annotation presently attached to it, purely a guess, I don't know.

OK, I see now, it needs a point on the sketch to associate with and not just arbitrary space.

@kshea9RNL8:

In some cases of annotating notes, there is no need to associate to an object.

We may just want to point to some empty space within an object to make a note.

So I do not know why this is not allowed.

Perhaps others may know of a way, if not you could suggest this in the IdeaStation.

It may also be that this is just a point of awareness to the author and will not show up on the print out which is very likely now that I think about it,

I just checked.

It did not show up in pdf output.

Thanks.

@Anonymous Thanks for the post.

As you've found - the "badge" for a disassociated annotation is a point of reference for drawing creation and will not show up on any outputs. Could you tell me a little bit about the note you're trying to add?

For the text height change, there is the "global" option in the Annotation settings at the bottom of the page.. The individual text height works based on highlighting, so double click the text, highlight the portion of the text you wish to change and then edit the height. Please let me know if this isn't working.

Thanks,

Scott

Thank you.

Is there a way to put hatches of various types on enclosed areas of the 2d drawings?

I don't know the OP's need, but this might be one example.

What does "OP" means?

Thank you for the good example.

How did you add the black dots in the 2D drawings?

>> Could you tell me a little bit about the note you're trying to add?

It is similar to your example.

More wishes:

I also wish there is a way to adjust the granularity of the dashes....

( I do not have a hatch option in my Modify menu...only Move and delete...Why??? )

[Addendum:  Hatch is only for section views. ]

And

When we join objects in Model space, the joint lines (of the exterior surfaces)

shows up at projection side views, even when tangent, interference, and thread edges lines were off.

E.g. a half cylinder joined to a cube will show the boundary of half-cylinder and the cube with a solid line.

1. As indicated OP is shorthand for Original Poster.

2. I used Autodesk Inventor which has a mature 2D drawing environment to create the example.
