Changing default dimensions in Pipe Command

Good day,

I have started playing around with the Pipe Command. Just one question please.

When I open the Pipe Command, I select the shape (square) and it defaults the section size to 100.0mm and Section Thickness to 25.0mm every time. My model uses 19mm tubing, 1.6mm thick all round so I keep having to edit the Section Size as well as Section Thickness (see my attached image). How can I change these default settings to 19.0mm and 1.6mm to make my workflow faster?

Thanks.

Leon

Hi @Anonymous,

I believe that this is a bug.  While there is no way to pre-set parameters for Fusion that will persist across sessions, most Fusion commands will at least remember the settings within a single session, so that the next time you use that command, it will default to the last values you used.  I'll file a bug to get that tracked/fixed for Pipe.

The create->pipe doesn't appear to save the prior settings for the operation, section size, section thickness.  This does become a little tedious in some circumstances.

Another few other create->pipe ideas, which might also be considered in a general way for other  create operations:

1. If we add a create->pipe to the menu bar, perhaps let us apply a set of default parameters there and rename the menu bar item.  This would let us define more than one set of default parameters.

2. Enhance create-pipe to multi-select paths without the chain selected, and in that case it would create separate bodies or separate components all with the same specified section size and section thickness.

3. Allow multi-select of prior pipe extrusions, and group edit specification of the section size and section thickness

So I guess this is still a bug that hasn't been fixed. It is very annoying that every time you use the pipe command you have to select the OD, ID, and whether it is a new body, ct, etc.
