Changing appearance according to a sketch

 I'm making a painted aluminium enclosure, but I have a small issue when it comes to the power socket I'm using. It needs a small section around the outlet to be left un-painted (so the component can be grounded on the case). I've added a painted appearance to the enclosure and drawn a sketch on the surface the shape which I would like to be left unpainted - is there any way of adding a bare metal appearance to the face, but only within the sketch boundaries, leaving the rest of the component painted?Untitled.png

Yes, you can use Split Face for this.  Select the face as the target, and your sketch as the tool, then in the Appearance command, make sure you have Faces selected, and you can drag an appearance onto just that one face:
