Changes in sheet metal flange tool

I make this sketch for a simple U-shape bended sheet metal plate:

sketch.png

Sketch is made with a centerline and is fully defined.

Next I try to add material to it using the flange tool.

It now treats this sketch as 2 seperate profiles, which it did not use to do. It used to make it 1 profile by connecting the 2.

Switching the Orientation from side 1 to 2 flips both profiles, so it creates a part which cannot be properly unfolded.

Something has changed in the way the flange tool behaves.

This post goes about the same problem probably: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-design-validate-document/sheet-metal-flange-tool-weird-new-beh...

Any suggestions on how to fix this or can this be looked into?

Hi

Yes, this is strange behavior. There's probably some bug in the algorithm recently.

To prevent this behavior, simply avoid creating an unnecessary center line.

I hope @johnsonshiue passes this error on to the development team; at the same time, it's important to remember that sketches should contain as little geometry and information as possible; and doing this from a clean sketch gives the desired effect.
