Change face widths' on a cylinder

cyl.jpgI have a cylinder, and all faces have the same width. How can I choose certain columns of the cylinder faces and make them wider than their neighbors' widths? Also, can I change the widths of the lines between the faces?

Thanks.

Hi,

How did you generate this cylinder? Circular Array? If you could attach the file for the forum to have a look at we can

probably help out.

I used Create Cylinder.

I found I can use Subdiviions. But can I also widen the gap between neighbors? Select the lines in between and change a variable?

Thanks.

looks like you're in the form environment.  I guess you could use slide edge.   moving anything will change the basic shape of the form.

if you're new to fusion, forms aren't a great place to start.  trickier than they seem.

Hi,

If you say what you want to achieve in the end, it is easier to suggest solutions.

I'm trying to make a vase that has spiral sides. And with changing thickness between spirals of various width and depth.

At the moment I can get the spirals, and subdivisions to make the surfaces different widths. Altho then I get spirals that don't line up. Do I need to make sure when I move up and add spiral than a surface overlaps the ones in rows above and below?
