Certain geometry not visible/available in sketch plane

I have bodies that seemingly have the same relevant properties that I want to project onto a sketch plane. When I press 'p' to project and choose the sketch plane onto which I have allready projected some of the geometry, certain bodies or parts of a body disapear and can no longer be selected. I have tried hiding and unhiding the bodies and 'compute all', but couldn't find other hints as to the problem.

Body6 is protrudingBody6 is protruding

I assume here that you are editing Sketch4.  Because Sketch4 is before the extrude that produces Body6, Fusion rolls back to before that extrude, which is why it disappears from the scene.

If you need to project edges or faces from Body6 into a sketch, you will have to create a new sketch that is after this extrude.

Thank you for you answer. This seems to be the problem. Is there way to rebase the sketch so it uses the extrusion or to combine two sketches or is it common practice to just create a new seperate sketch and leave it? Or is there a way to disable the timeline all together, since I have to admit that I don't know if I have a use for it. Thank you kindly.

Edit: I have disabled the design history and it now works as expected (by me at least). Don't know if this will have other repercussions.

In this particular case, yes, you can reorder the timeline.  I didn't even think to check that.  So used to seeing the pattern of sketch followed by Extrude where the Extrude consumes that sketch...  It just so happens that Extrude8 does not depend on Sketch4, so you can just drag it after Extrude8, and it works.

I see you have found how to disable the history.  You are certainly welcome to do that, but you might find that you are not happy with the result.  You will no longer be able to parametrically update your design - you won't be able to go back and edit a sketch, and have the consuming features update.  I wouldn't recommend that unless you really know what you are getting into - Direct Modeling is certainly efficient, but it has its drawbacks...

That is what I was looking for. The design history is starting to make more sense to me now, too. I was so confused because there were no dependencies between the two.
