Canvas vs. Decal

I'm working on this project for work and I'm wanting to use Fusion instead of Illustrator. I know Fusion is not ideal for this task but it's what I know. I'm replicating this image with .PNG's and I can't determine if Decal or Canvas is the correct workflow. I've done tests with both and neither rendered very well. Hoping for some tips or advice. Thank you

Hi,

A Canvas is an image that you insert on a plane in the background usually as a guide for modelling. It works like this.

I don't think a Canvas would be useful for your job, unless you layed it over the top of you design on a plane. It isn't

really meant to be used this way.

A Decal is a way to apply an image directly onto a shape. The image will wrap around the contours and can be

accurately placed and will be rendered that way.

The AutoCAD logo on this image is a Decal.

The quality of the render will be directly related to the quality of the image. Low quality image on a large surface

will be low quality. Try to improve the resolution of the image and placing it on a smaller surface.

Cheers

Andrew
