I added a logo to a part using the canvas function.  When I move that part into the assy the part comes in but the canvas logo does not.  Why is that and how do I get it to come along with the part into the new assy doc?

please share the design and a screencast of what you are doing here.  It's hard to tell without more information.  Thanks.

Thanks but I cannot share them publicly.  Think of a flat item that is a lid.  Now add a canvas item to the surface of the item to add a logo to the lid.  That is what I did.  Then I imported that item to another fusion doc that was an assy.  The canvas didn't make the transition even though it is a part of the vending doc.  Why?

I need some more information to go on.  Can you create a small test sample that reproduces the problem?  In the screencast below I have a design which has a block, and a canvas.  Then, in another design, I insert that first design, and the canvas seems to come along.  Are you doing something different than this?

yes I am doing something different.  I have been using the import derive.  Maybe that is the issue?

Using a MAC, the right click doesn't seem to really work the same.  right click doesn't open the menu to pick from as soon as the cntrl key is released the menu leaves.

Derive seems to work for me, as well.  Curious about why you are using Derive instead of Insert.  Are you selecting the whole root component to Derive?

not sure what you are talking about with respect to right click.  I am also using a Mac.

How do you access the menu then that has the option?  Do you use a mouse?  I am using the touch pad that requires the right click function to open the menu uses the control key and click the pad.  I used insert derive prior to bring the part in and that doesn't bring the canvas in

I did not use a right click in the above Insert->Derive screencast.  I recorded that video without a mouse as well.  Accessing the Insert menu is a left click. selecting the design to derive is also a left click.

However, I do use a two-finger tap on the touchpad to access the right click menu, which applies to other Mac applications I use, as well.  I think that is default behavior, at least I do not remember setting up anything special to get that to occur.

Well I got it to come in, BUT the canvas doesn't seem to be attached to the body.  trying to rotate the part for proper orientation and the canvas separates and I don't know if a command or function that allows me to manipulate the canvas.  I wished that when bringing these in they would come in as one group or such that grabbing one grabs both.

If you are moving a Body, then yes, the Canvas does not move with the body.  However, if you move the Component that owns both the body and the canvas, the canvas will move with it.  If you really want to move the body, I'd consider a Decal instead of a canvas.  Decals do move with the body (and with the component)

Thanks.  For some reason it wasn't coming in as a component.  I finally figured that out.  Thanks.
